The 1st Annual Lancaster-Fairfield County 4th of July Float Competition will be open to all groups from Fairfield County (Scouts, 4-H, school clubs, sports, alumni, organizations, businesses, neighborhoods, etc.). Organizations and/or businesses are also welcome to sponsor other groups (Ex: Scouts, schools, 4-H, etc.).

Participants must be registered for the parade before the June deadline to be entered in the competition.

Float Builders Manual” has been prepared to assist you in this project. The manual contains sections on how to get started, construction and decorating tips and techniques, cost estimating and helpful resources, along with examples.

A team of judges will award prizes for these categories: Mayor’s Award Commissioners Award Chamber Award Eagle Award Most Patriotic

Registered floats must be in place early the morning of the parade for our judges to evaluate and announce awards before the parade begins.

Junior Float Competition
Attention, kids! Decorate your wagon and join the parade!

The 1st Annual Lancaster-Fairfield County 4th of July Junior Float Competition will be open to kids in two categories:
1) ages 6-10
2) ages 11-14.

All participants must be registered for the parade before the June deadline to be entered in the competition.

Pet Pal Competition

The 1st Annual Lancaster-Fairfield County 4th of July Pet Pal Competition will be open to all who want to indulge in a bit of good-natured silliness. This year’s “pets” will be limited to dogs and their pal (owner/guardian). Participants must be registered for the parade before the June deadline to be entered in the competition.
